To David Cronin (The Electronic Intifada)
Dear Mr Cronin,
I’m addressing you directly and publicly in response to your allegations. As stupid as they are, they are both completely untrue as well as dangerous. In fact, I would go as far as to call your allegations malicious, ill-founded and completely biased. In questioning my integrity you should note again that I have never had any commercial or investments in Israel, in any field of activity, especially in the field of defence or security. This fact is easy to confirm! You should also note that I have many Palestinian friends, but I understand how you could have missed this fact as well.
Your “I’m only asking the questions” attitude on reporting will not bring justice to Palestine and if you could have taken more time to study my speeches, the resolutions and the amendments I’ve tabled, you should have seen that there was never a time in which I didn’t advocate for peace and a lasting solution for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Your confusion in presenting the book that I’ve coordinated, which is aimed at emphasizing and presenting the historical and close diplomatic ties between my country and Israel, only adds to the fact that you are not serving your cause well, whatever that cause may be. Even more, I’m very proud of what my country did when it helped set up the first discussions between Irasel and Palestine, a fact equally recognized and confirmed by both sides.
This is the first and the last time that I’m acknowledging your allegations and please don’t ever try to put words in my mouth and in the future better check your sources.
